ready to always be true to myself and to you the reader! The stories, regular sections and features of this issue do just that. From Jess Wilson’s personal essay “Welcome to the Club” that reminds us we are not alone to our informative features like Julie M Green’s “Don’t Sweat the IEP” or Cynthia Kim’s “10 Ideas To Make Bedtime Easier,” we stay true to our mission statement: to inspire, answer questions, ease minds, focus on positive solutions and recognize autistic individuals and the family members who support them on their journeys. We chose to highlight exceptional people like Temple Grandin and the brilliant, also autistic, Conner Cummings who interviewed her. We have real experts offer their advice to our featured question: How Do I Make Mornings Go More Smoothly? Who are our experts? They are autistic individuals who have already walked a mile in your child’s shoes. While the brands and sizes they wear may differ from your loved one, perhaps these individuals can offer insight and understanding as to how they fit and why they feel the way they do. “One step must start each journey.” This inaugural issue is indeed just that—our first step. We hope you will continue to walk with us and share this journey. Don’t worry. I promise to hold your hand during the loop de loop parts if you hold mine!
