bytes Day at the Legislature & Taste of West Virginia Reception Slated for February Don’t miss your opportunity to sample the finest goodies from West Virginia producers while chatting with legislators about issues of concern. The annual West Virginia Farm Bureau and West Virginia Forestry Association’s Day at the Legislature and Taste of West Virginia Reception are scheduled for February 3 in Charleston. The day begins at the state capitol at 10 am, where members can meet with their representatives, keeping them infomed on matters important to agriculture. As always, a group photo will be taken at 1 pm, near the WVFB display. At 6 pm, be sure to join us at the Marriott Town Center for the Taste of West Virginia Reception. Many of your friends and neighbors will be in attendance, as well as numerous legislators. It’s a great time to get to know them on a more personal level. Don’t miss out! Group photos will be available for any county Farm Bureaus who wish to have one taken. Food Check-Out Set for March 26-28 WVFB’s Women’s Leadership Committee is again sponsoring Food Check-Out, this year in March. The annual event raises awareness of America’s affordable and abundant food supply, while benefitting the three Ronald McDonald Houses in Huntington, Charleston and Morgantown, West Virginia. Shopping events will take place for Huntington at the Barboursville Kroger at 10 AM on March 26th; for Charleston at the Kanawha City Kroger at 10 AM on the 27th; and for Morgantown at the Patteson Drive Kroger at 10 AM on the 28th. The groceries and supplies purchased will then be delivered to each Ronald McDonald House. Local Farm Bureaus will also be soliciting donations of food, supplies and monetary gifts beforehand. If you are interested in donating to this worthy cause, call the WVFB office at 800-398-4630. 2 West Virginia Farm Bureau News
