WRITERS ABROAD MAGAZINE: THE THIRD SPACE I stumbled through to the best of my limited ability and got 22/30 in the grammar questions. I made 15 mistakes in the quite long dictation, most of them after the Toulousaine took over. Not too bad for a foreigner, but this disqualified me from the next round. I did absolutely no revision or mugging up on French grammar beforehand. It wouldn’t have done any good and nothing was riding on it anyway. This was purely for fun (yes, I know, I should get out more). THIS PHOTO WAS TAKEN BY GILLIAN BROWN NEAR THE VILLAGE WHERE SHE LIVES IN THE LANGUEDOC REGION OF SOUTHERN FRANCE. SCENES SUCH AS THESE OFTEN INSPIRE HER WRITING. 25 | May 2016
