WRITERS ABROAD MAGAZINE Wild Times A Poem By Chris Nedahl The torch light flashed, the voice neared. I heard, I listened but did not stir. The arm around my shoulders tightened, my mother’s voice became more frightened. Shh! he said and I held my breath as the voice faded in distant light. We sat a while, kissed and cuddled, salt air tingling lips and cheeks. Got to go, I whispered shyly as I slipped from his embrace. Looking back with age and wisdom, still I long for that forbidden place. WA 34 | M a r c h 2 0 1 5
