Special Olympics Bowling Regionals The WSD bowling team participated in the Regional Tournament for Special Olympics bowling. Our bowlers provided close competition with the other teams. Advancing to the sectionals were, junior Naomi Cinefero and senior Charly Fleege. These two young ladies won first place in their divisions while senior Brandaun Carter won third place. Eighth grader, Anthony Bole, placed 4th in his division. Eighth grader Chloe Goetsch, sophomore Jenny Hogan, and sophomore Andy Coppola each bowled to fifth place in their respective divisions. Trying their best, Jon Post and Darion Henderson won 6th and 8th place, respectively. RIGHT: Brandaun Carter enjoys his final year as a WSD Special Olympics Bowler. Sectionals Charly Fleege bowled her best to earn 7th place at sectionals while Naomi Cinefro earned 6th place. They did not advance to the state tournament. Brandaun Carter won second place and will advance to the state tournament. He has high hopes of winning the state championship in bowling. In Memoriam By Maryann Barnett Timothy Herbert Erikson Tim Erickson worked in the Technology Department at WSD since he began in 2007. He suffered a stroke in May of 2013 and returned to work at WSD in February 2014. Tim died June 12, 2014. He and his wife, Cathy, lived in Delavan. Outside of work, Tim enjoyed playing in his band, Neutral Zone taking long motorcycle rides, continuing to learn sign language, and traveling to his place in Black River Falls, both on weekends, and during hunting season. He also participated in Revolutionary War reenactments. Services for Tim were held on Saturday and Sunday, June 21 and 22, 2014. The entire WSD family extends it sympathy to Tim’s family.
