Fall 2014 - 20
WSD had the opportunity
to field both an A and a B
team. The A team consisted
mainly of 7th and 8th
graders while the B team
consisted of 4th through
7th graders. Both teams
were able to compete
against many area schools.
Significant improvements
were exhibited from last
season. Five wins and six
loses were claimed by the B
team; compared to tougher
competition faced by the A
team which won three and
lost 14 matches.
Badger Invitational
Middle School Volleyball
tournament in Lake
Geneva was the highlight
of the season. The A team
competed hard and won 3rd
place in its pool. Battling
it out against the Lake
Geneva Middle School’s
A team, the Firechicks
lost the match in the third
game. It was a heartbreaker
as they earned 6th place
out of eight teams but they
learned a great deal about
tournament play. The WSD
middle school volleyball
team will miss the 8th
graders, Keisha Payne,
Lucero Uriostegui, Desiree
West, Brianna Henke,
and Paige Sheffield but
will look forward to them
competing at the varsity
level.
