Elementary School News By Lori Lindau Discovery World As part of the science curriculum, the upper elementary students studied the weather, space, coral reefs, electricity, plants, magnets and simple machines. Discovery World in Milwaukee was great place to gain a deeper understanding of these concepts. Students were really able to get a taste and a feel for the science concepts learned in school. One of the best parts of the trip was going into the Hive 3D Environment. In the Hive, everyone wore 3D glasses and felt like they were flying! They had fun identifying all the planets in the Hive too. Discovery World also has great gadget that was like a giant hamster wheel. In order to make the wheel turn students had to run as fast as they could. The fourth and fifth graders also explored the BIG fan, which required the use of three students working together to make the blades spin. Discovery World was a great place to activate brain cells and keep the students’ love of learning alive! ABOVE LEFT: Ra’Nell gives a tree a big hug!
