Beach Party
As summer approached, the dorm staff got together to plan the annual
end-of-year activity. To kick things off, students participated in a
chalk drawing contest using a summer or beach theme. Students were
divided into groups. After intense judging by the dorm staff, Group
Two was chosen as the winners and had a pizza party during the
last week of school.. Group Two consisted of Charly Fleege, Olivia
Perci eld, Daniel Orizaba, Ellie Lister, Naomi Cinefro, Jerome Payne,
Veronica Duran, Halina Kangas, Daniel Romero, Kaiden Messer,
Jasmine Perkins, Kadedra Jackson, Julian Chairez, Mitchell Perry,
Andy Coppola, and Lennon Morrissey.
Students also played beach-themed games chosen by the staff and
rotated between each game for a half-hour. Once all of the games
were played, the oating trophy went to G-3, taking it away from
previous winner B-4. The planned cookout for after the games was
cancelled due to the weather forecast.
Two years ago, students were surprised with an outdoor movie during

a different evening in the Lee Gym to keep the students in suspense.
The movies shown
were Surf’s Up and
Beautiful Creatures.
The showing of
Surf’s Up was
interrupted by a
erce storm that hit
Delavan cutting off power to the building. Everyone was sent
to the dorms where the elementary students went to bed and
the middle school and high school students watched the rest
of the movies in the lobby.
