Beach Party As summer approached, the dorm staff got together to plan the annual end-of-year activity. To kick things off, students participated in a chalk drawing contest using a summer or beach theme. Students were divided into groups. After intense judging by the dorm staff, Group Two was chosen as the winners and had a pizza party during the last week of school.. Group Two consisted of Charly Fleege, Olivia Perci eld, Daniel Orizaba, Ellie Lister, Naomi Cinefro, Jerome Payne, Veronica Duran, Halina Kangas, Daniel Romero, Kaiden Messer, Jasmine Perkins, Kadedra Jackson, Julian Chairez, Mitchell Perry, Andy Coppola, and Lennon Morrissey. Students also played beach-themed games chosen by the staff and rotated between each game for a half-hour. Once all of the games were played, the oating trophy went to G-3, taking it away from previous winner B-4. The planned cookout for after the games was cancelled due to the weather forecast. Two years ago, students were surprised with an outdoor movie during their end-of- year celebration. Due to the weather forecast, an outdoor movie was ruled out. However, Assistant Dean of Students, Jeffrey Rawlings still planned to show two movies but moved the viewing to a different evening in the Lee Gym to keep the students in suspense. The movies shown were Surf’s Up and Beautiful Creatures. The showing of Surf’s Up was interrupted by a erce storm that hit Delavan cutting off power to the building. Everyone was sent to the dorms where the elementary students went to bed and the middle school and high school students watched the rest of the movies in the lobby. Pedaling Away Bicycle use requires regular maintenance to ensure the bicycle is in good shape. Senior Markiese Mims showed fellow students how to identifying a hole in an inner tube by immersing each part in water to see if any bubbles appear. Once they located the hole, they were taught how to repair it. Markiese led the boys through each step,
