The Lecherous Leprechaun
Every spring we look forward to the return of green grass, bright colors and warmer temperatures. One thing
we don’t look forward to is the lecherous little leprechaun that likes to make a mess of the lower elementary
classrooms each year. This year, on Friday, March 15th, he struck again. Students arrived to class to see his
green (child) size thirteen shoe prints in the kindergarten room, student’s school supplies strewn on the oor in
Grade 2 and over-turned desks in Grade 3. Students were not happy to begin the day by cleaning up the mess
the leprechaun made. Oh well, at least we know it’s spring!
Community Helpers
During the fourth quarter, kindergarten and rst grade students were out and
about the Delavan area learning about community helpers. Students visited
the Delavan Post Of ce, the Delavan Fire Department, Delavan Police
Department, the Walworth County Sheriff’s Of ce, an eye doctor, a bank,
the Lakeland Animal Shelter, a veterinarian, Panera Bread, Piggly Wiggly,
and Taco Bell. One of the most eye-opening experiences for the students was
learning the difference between a veterinarian and an animal shelter. The
