This new monthly award recognizes both the athletic
and academic efforts of our athletes. One male and
one female athlete are selected each month. Criteria
includes: sportsmanship and respect to coaches,
of cials, and teammates, athlete’s enthusiasm, support,
commitment, honesty, and personal success as well as
academic achievements.

Athletes of the Year
This year, WSD implemented recognition for a male
and female Athlete of the Year, chosen by the athletic
department. Criteria for winning this award were
excellence in academics and achievement in their
respective sports. Any athlete who earned Athlete of
the Month recognition was considered by the coaches
for the Athlete of the Year honor. The winners were
given a t-shirt and a mini-poster from Zeal Fitness, a
deaf-owned company focused on tness.
