Veditz was voted to be President of the National Association of the Deaf twice (in 1904 and 1907). Mr. Veditz was a leader in wanting to film sign language. He made the film “The Preservation of Sign Language” in 1913. Mr. Veditz was born on August 13, 1861. Veditz’s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland will begin an annual Veditz Festival on his birthday. The George Veditz ASL Festival is dedicated to celebrating the wealth of sign language Marika Beyer & Lexy Christ along with Gunner Hahn, mystery with literacy, poetry and stories. Mr. Veditz received a handwritten note from President Woodrow Wilson regarding that film.
