Elementary School News By Lori Lindau St Andrew’s World Faire Each year, WSD students are invited to the World Faire hosted at St. Andrew’s School in Delavan. When the field trip was announced, students who had previously attended the World Faire cheered and were eager to return. Each sixth and seventh grader at St. Andrew’s presented their project on a foreign country. The eighth graders presented projects on their chosen part of American History. WSD students watched the interpreter describe the St. Andrew’s student’s display, photos, drawings, maps, clothing, and treats. When each presentation was completed, students had their passport stamped from the presenter. The St. Andrew’s World Faire is a GREAT exhibition of students’ hard work and is open to the public every year. We look forward to attending annually! Mrs. Lindau became excited when we learned about Scotland. She traveled to her homeland, Scotland, with her mom in the summer of 2010 and has often shared her love of travel and family with her students. Thus her students were also eager to learn more about her ancestorial homeland! Ellie Lister and Emma Vollmar explore the Mexican exhibit at the St. Andrew’s World Faire. Students learned about Canada, our North American neighbor. Tea Party The fifth grade students have been studying about America’s history.
