The Apple Barn The annual trip to the Apple Barn in Elkhorn is one of the most anticipated field trips of the year. Students counted down the days until their visit to the apple orchard. After a hayride to the orchard, students filled their bags with Cortland apples, watched a video about the life cycle of an apple, and enjoyed an apple cider donut and juice. The reward for good behavior was playtime on an antique fire truck and in a tree maze. It just doesn’t get any better than this! Ellie picks Cortland apples. Lillian proudly displays her bag of apples. Laela loves apples. Cayden says, “Yummy, yummy in my tummy!” Pumpkin Patch Ellie exalts with pumpkin in hand! Elementary students bundled up in their thick winter coats, gloves, and hats for our annual trip to Skelly’s Farm Market in Janesville. It was a blustery fall day, but the students did not mind. They had only one thing on their minds…PUMPKINS! The trip included a trip through a corn maze, a tractor ride through the pumpkin fields, a lesson in “pumpkin school,” and a delicious pumpkin donut with apple cider. Students could hardly wait to head out to the pumpkin patch to choose the perfect pumpkin to take home. Zachary and Tyler work together in the corn maze. Alicia finds her perfect pumpkin.
