For Wild Northerner

My fishing partner stinks. I mean, she actually smells bad.

Her hair is more often than not unkempt, she has terrible table manners and her breath could drop an elephant.

But she doesn’t question where or when I want to fish, is more than ready to go at the drop of a hat no matter the time of day, and she somehow loves fishing more than I do.

No matter when and where I fish, our family dog Chloe is right by my side. And I mean right by my side.

She watches every cast and follows the lure in, intent on the action, always ready for a bite, perhaps more often than I am. For hours on end, with perhaps an odd break for a drink of water, she will follow that routine, the very definition of focus.
