The impact we ’ re having our work in action

Adventure learning partnership schools
The programme builds a long partnership between us and a school , which enables pupils to broaden their horizons and get involved in all sorts of adventures , with the aim of improving their academic attainment . We focus on schools in areas of high deprivation .
Out of our 15 ALP schools , 11 of them performed higher than the national average in attainment , in spite of all of them having a higher than national average of disadvantaged pupils .
What do head teachers think of adventure learning ?
Our partnership with Wide Horizons began in 2013 . We have since embedded Adventure Learning into our school curriculum from reception through to Year 6 , where we have seen their academic achievement improve year on year .
In my opinion , there ’ s no better way to engage children with challenging behaviour in learning than through adventure learning , and the results speak for themselves .
OFSTED have also reported that all pupils , including the most able , disadvantaged , and those with special educational needs or a disability , make outstanding academic progress throughout their school journey . sue beachamp – HEAD TEACHER two bridges school kate gooding – HEAD TEACHER virginia primary school
