The Canadian Museum of History plans to ice a winning exhibition March 3 to Oct . 9 , 2017 . Hockey in Canada – More Than Just a Game explores the evolution of the sport and its place in our national psyche . As Canada turns 150 , the Stanley Cup turns 125 , and the NHL turns 100 , there is no better time to explore Canada ’ s game . Artifacts on display include Jacques Plante ’ s “ pretzel ” goalie mask ( pictured to the left ), Hayley Wickenheiser ’ s skates , Maurice “ The Rocket ” Richard ’ s jersey and championship rings , and country singer Shania Twain ’ s hockey-inspired stage costumes . Sorry , no taste testing The Rocket ’ s vintage can of tomato soup ( seen above ).
