Art on the Road
Grand Turk - Diane Grey Page
“I had the privilege of meeting several wonderful artists on my recent trip to the
Caribbean.
Our first stop was Grand Turk where I met a wonderful beach glass jewelry de-
signer, Diane Grey Page.
I was thrilled, as I have had an ongoing love affair with colored glass most of my
adult life. She was warm and gracious, and we hit it off instantly. We sat in the
warm
Caribbean sun, and chatted about life, love and her passion for beach glass. I
found her to be delightful and quite fascinating.
This woman has packed more into life than most people ever even dream of!
What an
inspiration she is! Diane was introduced to shell collecting at an early age by her
mother, and instantly fell in love with the naturally occurring glass on the beach
and began to collect it.
She is intrigued by the endless variety, shading, thickness and curvature of each
unique piece of glass, and has traveled far and wide to find the most beautiful
pieces.
Her collection includes glass from the beaches of Florida, California, Europe, the
Caribbean, Greece, Egypt, Tasmania, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Hawaii and
the South of France.
She shared with me that Turks and Caicos Islands, where she lived for several
years, are where she has found the majority of her black beach glass which is
quite rare these days.
