Where ART Lives Magazine Volume 3 Number 2 | Page 105

In what town and state is your art studio located? Longmont, CO What is your favorite thing about your studio? I have 4 west facing windows that give me a fantastic, unobstructed view of Colorado’s mountainous Front Range, specifically Longs’ Peak and Mount Meeker. I never tire of gazing out the window and getting lost in the moment. Would you describe your studio as messy or neat? I would say a little neat and a little cluttered with all the still life props I have accumulated over the years. But, not messy. Is our studio located in or out of your home? My studio is located outside of my home on Main St. in Longmont. I’m in a building that includes a bakery, a coffee shop, a deli and several professional kitchens that chefs and caterers use. The aromas are absolutely divine especially when the bakers are baking bread or someone is frying bacon. What do you do to set the creative mood in your studio before you begin creating art? Usually just walking into my studio puts me in the creative mood. Sometimes if I need a jump start I’ll start organizing my painting area, cleaning paint tubes, organizing paint brushes, canvases, etc. Being in close proximity of the embedded creative energy around my easel will do the trick. 105
