How often do you work ? How many hours a week ? I take photo trips 3-5 times a year . Otherwise , I shoot locally every chance I get . And as to the marketing side of things … well , I work a LOT .
How would you like to be remembered ? I think mostly for my cityscape work , but generally as a prolific hard-working photographer . I do a fair amount of marketing which takes most of my time , and of course pays my bills .
How do you know when a photo is finished ? Every image has to be “ worked ” to get to a point where I personally am happy with it . Some of it is technical – sharpness / clarity , detail in highlights and shadows , lack of digital noise , and so forth … but some of it is subjective …. I always go for a particular look that is my signature style .
What is the most inspirational place you have visited to date ? Wyoming Tetons .
Where would you take your dream vacation ? Alaska ... before I die .
What brings you the most joy in your life ? Being with my family , my wife of 30 yrs , and daughter Kayla and her husband Aaron . I am blessed .
Tell us something that few people know about you . I do an Elvis impersonation . The voice is okay ... but the moves are excellent if I do say so myself .
Any other thoughts to share ? Photography allows me to depict things as the best that they can be . An old abandoned building becomes a refreshing mecca , the desert turns into a visual oasis , and happen chance elements are magically given purpose and focus . I love to produce images that make the viewer say , “ Oooh , I want to see that in real life . Now .”
