Do you walk with your head down looking for interesting pieces of rusted metal, glass, wood, etc? Do you save stuff instead of throwing it out because you might find a use for it? Are you a Dumpster Diva? This is the class for you! Mixed media artist Carol Nelson will show you how to assemble that junk into ART! You will learn rusted iron paint technique. You will learn how to paint and emboss foils. You will use alcohol inks to turn ordinary metal parts into the stunning components of your unique creations. There will be a $20/person materials fee for supplied materials including wood supports, acrylic mediums, foils, iron paint and activator, red rosin paper, burlap, tacks, wood pieces, cradled wood panels, metal parts (washers, shims, etc), epoxy resin, mirror paper, YES paste, E6000, gesso, and more. Students should bring their favorite acrylic paints, alcohol inks (6 colors will be plenty - available at Michaels), gel medium (regular or soft), hammer, palette, spray water bottle, brushes, paper towels, water container, metal embellishments, found objects, collage ephemera such as Altoid boxes, bottle caps, rusted metal parts, etc. Contact Information: Kimberly Conrad [email protected]
