Susan Fowler What subject appears the most in your paintings and why? It is hard to ignore the landscape in Colorado. So I guess that would be the dominate theme. How often do you paint? How many hours a week? Every day of the week is a workday. I approach my time management as if operating a business. My years in the business world were vital in establishing a habit of “going to work” on a daily basis. Generally I spend 4-6 hours at the easel. How would you like to be remembered? My paintings are a kind of diary of my experiences since leaving the business world. When something captures my attention, making it necessary to paint it, I am in essence saying “see what I see. Isn’t it wonderful!”. The paintings I leave behind will be my legacy. Hopefully my family will remember me this way. What are you most proud of in your life? I am most proud that in spite of myself, I raised a beautiful daughter, and she in turn gave me two wonderful grandchildren. What book are you reading this week? “The War of Art” by Stephen Pressfield, recommended by Colorado artist, Stacy Peterson. www.susanfowlerartist.com 34
