Dan Olsen ’15 credits Coach Jim Gruenwald with
getting him ready to represent the United States at the
World University Games in Russia.

after transferring to
Wheaton, Dan Olsen ’15 had earned
Division III All-American recognition as
a Thunder wrestler and represented the
United States at the 27th World University
Games in Kazan, Russia.
He achieved all this even after stepping
away from wrestling in 2008. Dan grew
up wrestling, beginning at age four. He
says, “My dad wrestled in high school
and college. He started coaching both
my brother and me when we were about
five. He coached our club teams and also
coached at our high school.”
