Michel Chikwanine was born in the Democratic Republic of Congo in the amid terror of the Great War of Africa. His childhood was not one of the best. That being a witness of your father's tourture(singled out for his political beliefs), the rape of your mother and getting your share of tourture. Yes, not the best. Much of Michle's childhood revoled around the death and decay of the war that claimed the lives of 5.8 million. His father included. Michel is also a former child soldier.

He has spoken to over 100,000 people and has shared the stage with many speakers.He has captured the attention of national media by sharing his personal story. These medias include CBC, CTV and major daily newspapers as he inspires peopel to belive in their ability to create a change. He was also a speaker on Oprah’s O Ambassadors Roots of Action speaking tour, largely reaching students at resource-poor schools.
