The WCIT are thankful for the additional support received through sponsorship by: The horrific events in Paris the day before the Show resulted in the Lord Mayor leading a two minute silence at the start of the Show during which our video screens were amended to read ‘Remembering Paris’. Despite the visible presence of many armed police officers – and of course the rain – the Show was a thoroughly enjoyable event for all concerned. Preceding our float was the Royal Signals White Helmets motorcycle display team who also provided two daring quad bike outriders. They put on a marvellous display of spins, skids and wheelies for the crowd that set the tone for plenty of cheering and interaction with the public. As we approached the Mansion House, the full White Helmets display team formed their 15 man fan on motorbikes; the “fan” saluted the Lord Mayor and provided one of the highlights of the Show. As our float passed Mansion House the LED panels were changed to display ‘Congratulations to the Lord Mayor from WCIT’.
