Walkway Marathon: 2016 Digital Race Packet | Page 13

DON’T give your race number (bib) to another runner and don’t run with another person’s number; offenders WILL BE BARRED from future Walkway Marathon races. BE CONSIDERATE in toilet lines and in the facilities: DON’T cut in line or switch lines, and do your business quickly and neatly. FOLLOW THE TIMELINE for checking your bag and entering the starting line—and follow the instructions of event staff and volunteers if you are late. BE COURTEOUS to volunteers and staff (a “Thank You” is always appreciated), and be respectfully quiet during the National Anthem and announcements. NEVER urinate anywhere except in the toilet facilities, and don’t leave your trash anywhere except in a trash can. DON’T run in groups of three or more people abreast. WATCH where you spit, blow your nose, and toss cups. DON’T stop abruptly; someone might crash into you or trip over you. If someone running behind you says, “On your left,” move to your right. If someone says, “On your right,” move to your left. We strongly discourage the use of headphones at our races, but if you must wear them, be extra-aware of your surroundings, and make sure you can hear announcements and the runners around you.
