VPHS Condolences Charlie Newsham fortunate and decades of dedication to his beloved church, St Nicholas Anglican Church in Charlo. Noxolo Tyeke (2002): It is with great sadness that we were informed that Noxolo passed away in Pretoria. She had been ill for a while. She is survived by her mother and young daughter. May her soul rest in perfect peace. Andre Labuschagne (1988) passed away on 31 May 2012 in Australia. He had a burst aneurysm and was in a coma for several weeks before the machines were turned off and he passed naturally a few days later. We thank his sister, Tamlyn Labuschagne (1990), for advising us. RIP Andre. Trevor Bernard Tawse (1962) a prefect and captain of the cricket team at VP, passed away on 6 June 2014 in Mmabatho in the North-west Province. Sincere condolences to all his family. Andre Vosloo (1965), a well-known former Olympics and Eastern Province flyhalf, passed away recently at the age of 67 in Cape Town. Andre’s most notable performances playing for EP included playing against the British Lions in 1986 and the All Blacks in 1970, as well as beating Western Province at Newlands in 1971. Charlie Newsham (1940) passed away peacefully on 2 October 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Charlie was one of the very first pupils to attend VP in 1940 in the Dutch Reformed Church in South End. As the longest living old scholar of Victoria Park High, it was an exceptional honour to welcome him to the school’s 70th birthday celebration in 2010.
