which she donates to Interact as gifts to children’s
homes. Her son, Shaun, is an IT expert and daughter Cathrine is a primary school teacher. The love
of her life is her two year old granddaughter, Blair.
Many photos and stories are shared about Blair’s
latest achievements.
We would like to thank Anne for her loyalty - all the
buttons she sews on blazers, torn pants she mends,
stained jerseys she launders at home and the long
hours at the beginning of each year. May you and
your family remain loyal Victorians.

In 1997, while her children were still at VP, Anne
offered to help as a voluntary assistant in the Clothing Shop. The small old second hand shop had to
be extended and she was of tremendous help during
this time. When in 2003 we moved from this very
small room - now Mr Thoba’s office - to the large
premises, previously the Woodwork machine room,
Anne was appointed as full time assistant.
When Marintha du Preez went back to teaching,
Anne had to take over the administration of the
new shop. By this time the second hand stock had
dwindled to only a few items and Anne had to find
suppliers for new items. She now regularly sources
new suppliers with better service and prices on her
computer at home since the shop is not connected to
the Internet.
We started selling stationery and during the quiet
times Anne makes up stationery packs for Grade 8
pupils. These days many new items form part of the
stock and the shop has had to be extended twice in
order to have extra storage space.
Mr Sebachian Xolelani Jafta spent his early years
in King Williamstown, before moving to Port Elizabeth, where he completed his Matric at Phakamisa High School. He then worked for Short’s Power
Systems, before coming to work at Victoria Park
High School.
