VPHS U14A Well done to our boys, who held to a high standard of commitment throughout the season and reaped the benefits. They displayed a physical and mental toughness beyond their years and our school proudly applauds them for this. Ah Shene, Kelvin Kanenunugo, Wade Ruiters, Kwakho Nokanda The 2014 season started off as a baptism of fire for many players who were new to the game of rugby. However, after persevering, the team started to look like a classy outfit and began to hold a few seasoned opponents to low scores, whilst claiming a few points of their own. Eventually the boys got their first draw against Linkside High, and then went on to claim a convincing win over Newton Technical High School. The highlight of the season came in our penultimate game against our main rivals, Alexander Road High. In wet weather conditions, and with talent more or less equal on both sides, the V.P. boys mastered the conditions, beating Alex in a nail-biting affair that was exuberantly celebrated by players, coach and parents alike. 207
