VPHS The B-team’s highlight was definitely the derby against Woodridge, and the A-team’s highlight was the game against Newton Tech High School, as they dominated the court in every aspect of the game. We just want to acknowledge the amazing shooting abilities of Nontle Mbatyoti and Sonaku Adams. Another highlight as well for the A-girls was their match against the touring school from England. vs. Newton Tech: This season was definitely a learning curve for the girls as they learnt many skills: perseverance, discipline and the attitude of never giving up, no matter what the score board said. As their coach, I got a few extra grey hairs and chewed a few fingernails, but we are very proud of these girls. We can only go from strength to strength. I would like to thank every u14 player for her hard work and dedication. A special word of thanks also to the captains of the two teams, Danielle de Necker (A team) and Geordan Venter (B team). The positive way in which they led their teams inspired us all. I look forward to seeing all the juniors excel in 2015. Thank you to Mrs. McLeod for the support during the year. Mrs E du Preez Ms. Barnard A team: 39-0 ; B team: 28-0 This was a very enthusiastic group and I thoroughly enjoyed all the entertainment they provided. An exciting prospect is the talent displayed by some of the u14 players. They will definitely be an asset to our senior teams in the future.
