VP Athletes Shine At Eastern Cape High
School Championships
Victoria Park’s success for 2014 has been a direct
result of a hugely successful inter-house athletics
competition. Our athletes have shown great form
this year and have been in the spotlight through all
the qualifying rounds. where over 60 athletes represented the school leading up to the Eastern Cape
High School Championships held in Cradock. Five
of the 6 athletes who represented VP were placed
in the top 3, with the 6th athlete finishing in a close
4th position in the final of the 100m for U/14 boys.
Champs in Cradock by once again finishing in 1st
place in the 100m. In Cradock, he finished 3rd in his
heat to qualify for the final, and narrowly missed
out on a medal position, finishing 4th overall! He
was thus ranked 4th in the Eastern Cape.
Rafeeq Agherdien (U/14 100m):
Rafeeq won the 100m and 200m at the Zone Meeting held on 05 February at the Westbourne Oval.
He followed this up with a win in the 100m at PE
High Schools the following weekend, qualifying
for the Metro High School Championships. At
these champs, he qualified to compete at the ECHS
