So many times we ask ourselves the question: Why do we do what we do? What is in it for us? In Junioract we found that the gratitude, love and appreciation we receive from the community we serve, is our reward. Members of Junioract have experienced first hand what it is like to give out to the community without having the expectation that they will receive anything in return - a valuable experience for a grade 8 and 9 learner. We also visited Coega Door of Hope where we interacted with children of different age groups. Some Junioract hosted a Christmas celebration for the Coega Door of Hope children at the end of 2013. Each child and staff member received a gift and we shared lunch with them. The gratitude and appreciation of staff and children was overwhelming and left each one of us with a warm and grateful heart. . We started 2014 with a fun day event where everybody enjoyed fun and games and ended up with a face either covered with cake flour or water.
