VPHS Redenaars Victoria Park’s 2014 annual Afrikaans Redenaars competition was again a huge success. Doing public speaking in your first additional or even second additional language is a difficult task, as Mr. Potgieter often says. Even so, this didn’t scare away the brave pupils, Gr. 8 to 12, who came and presented the variety of topics ranging from funny stories of Mr. Jansen’s class to serious matters about technology and its impact on our lives. In the Junior division, Danielle de Necker, in Gr.8, gave a fantastic speech and was placed first. Excellent speeches were also given by the pupils placed second and third.
