From Virginia to South Carolina When some parishioners and leaders in South Carolina voted to leave the Episcopal Church in late 2012, the news struck a chord with Dayspring congregations in Virginia. Continuing Episcopalians in South Carolina were left feeling uncertain and looking for places to worship. Those circumstances felt all too familiar to Virginians. The Rev. Lucia Lloyd, rector of St. Stephen’s, Heathsville, decided to organize a diocesan-wide effort to support the Episcopal Church in South Carolina.
