RISING FUND

New this year, the Rising Fund provides immediate
support to projects, organizations and individuals
whose work in creating art and social change is urgent
and immediate. Recipients of Rising Fund support
focus on shifting patriarchy and changing the paradigm
of the issue of violence against women and girls. The
Rising Fund is made possible by the Tides Foundation,
with consultation, leadership and support from the
NoVo Foundation.
This year’s grantees include Act Now for Harmony and
Democracy (Shabnam Hashmi) Climbing Poetree, African
American Policy Forum (Say Her Name), RIWAQ-Centre for
Architectural Conservation (Suad Amiry), Touchable Project/
Dalit Women Fight, Chinese Feminist Network/Media Monitor
for Women Network, Guernica (Female Fighter Writing
Series), Nimmi Gowrinathan/Politics of Sexual Violence
Initiative at City College, Farkhunha Trust/Afghan Women’s
Higher Education Initiative, and Kolkata Sanved.
