A comprehensive system of teaching foreign languages aimed at the formation of harmoniously developed, highly educated, modern-minded younger generation, had been created in the framework of the Law “On Education” and the National Personnel Training Program. These universities are training bachelors and masters in highly demanded by the labor market specialties such as mechanical engineering, oil and gas, information technology, economics and business management, financial management, business law, computer engineering. Higher Education. The higher education institutions teach some of subjects in foreign languages, especially the technical and international specialties. British Council, Alliance française and Goethe Institute in Uzbekistan constitute an active part of these processes. Drastic reforms in higher education had been carried out during the years of independent development in Uzbekistan. Today in Uzbekistan there are about 60 higher educational institutions, 11 regional branches of Tashkent universities and 7 branches of leading foreign universities (Tashkent International Westminster University, Turin Polytechnic University, South Korea’s Inha University of Information Technology, Singapore Management Development Institute, Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, Russian State Economic University named after Plekhanov and the Russian State University of Oil and Gas.
