TTA BY THE NUMBERS The UVA Transportation Training Academy was formed in January 2011 by the merger of two training programs: the Virginia Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and the Virginia Transportation Professional Development Program (TPDP). The TTA was established to provide practical, affordable, relevant training to our customers based on their needs. Today, TTA offers over 80 unique workshops on transportation-related topics targeted at Virginia state and local government agency employees at all levels. 109 workshops held in this period, 2,477 attendees, 43 instructors representing 27 organizations, 25 training sites across the state, 1,197 professional contact hours awarded “ I expected to enhance my project management skills to better manage my projects. All presentations were beneficial and useful to my present job. —TPMI Participant ” TTA GOALS • • • • To offer informative, innovative, and affordable training and professional development programs tailored to meet the workforce development needs of Virginia’s state and local government agencies in order to improve the level of transportation services provided to the traveling public. To enhance the level of service and depth of programs and services offered by actively soliciting feedback from sponsors, clients, and participants. To foster and coordinate training partnerships among local, state, and federal transportation agencies and private sector organizations in Virginia. To provide responsive technical assistance support to transportation officials in Virginia’s cities and towns to help find solutions to local transportation problems.
