The Service Center has the ability to affect people in the most amazing way. The experiences and opportunities associated with the Service Center are unique and irreplaceable. Because of that, I want to make the Service Center more welcoming and accessible to students. I want the Service Center to be a place where individuals feel safe and inspired. The ultimate goal of the Service Center is to enhance the quality of student’s lives thorough service. I hope to accomplish these goals by completing other, smaller goals along the way.

The first goal I have is to physically renovate the Service Center. As of now, the Service Center looks very old and contains a lot of old supplies, furniture and equipment. We could make the Service Center more welcoming and inviting just by changing its physical appearance. Adding sliding glass doors would make the Service Center seem more open. Painting the Service Center and highlighting volunteers through pictures and awards is another goal of mine. I want to have numerous pictures of volunteers on the walls to let our volunteers know how much we care about them.

To make sure that everything gets done, it is important to start small and work up to bigger goals. I am excited for the changes coming to the Service Center and I want to inspire the leaders and students at the university to also #bethechange
