On 19 January some of our lucky students had the opportunity to celebrate Chinese New Year through participating in the Crash Bang Wallop workshops. Together with some of their friends from the British International School and Clifford International School, our students explored the rhythm and beauty of Chinese Traditional Music.

Students had the opportunity to take part in three individual workshops; Chinese drumming, movement through music, and orchestral playing. At the end of the day, we combined in a combined orchestra with 80 members playing the Mongolian tune, Carved saddle.

Playing a musical instrument makes you smarter, improves your co-ordination and mood. When you play in an orchestra, students learn skills of co-operation, listening and interpretation. Crash Bang Wallop was a fun event where our students could make friends with other young musicians whilst at the same time improve their own musical skills.
