Discovery World ’ s Denis Sullivan
Discovery World , located on Milwaukee ’ s Lake Michigan waterfront , invites students to explore science , technology and creativity . The museum ’ s many hands-on exhibits include virtual reality experiences , aquariums and TV and recording studies .
Middle school and high school students can participate in Discovery World ’ s Educational Lab Experiences from September through May . These lab programs take place in private spaces , and offerings include screen printing , robotics , green-screen visual effects and audio-visual editing . Labs can be combined with interactive tours , movies and live theatrical shows .
During the summer months , students can board the sailing vessel Denis Sullivan , a replica three-masted schooner that is docked at the museum . The ship has a professional crew of 10 , two diesel engines , modern communication and navigation devices and a scientific laboratory . Educational sailing experiences range from two-hour lake cruises to multi-day trips . The vessel can accommodate up to 50 passengers for day sails and 21 overnight guests .

RIVERSPORT Adventures ’ Sky Trail
A visit to Oklahoma City can connect students to a wide range of experiences that include a facility focused on physical adventure as well as a memorial of an event with enormous social and political importance .
The Oklahoma City National Memorial provides students with an interactive learning experience about the bombing of Oklahoma City ’ s Alfred P . Murrah Federal Building . A self-guided tour details the story of the April 19 , 1995 , event and the days , weeks and years that followed . In the Uncover-Discover Lab , which integrates STEM concepts with history , students determine the lessons learned from the tragic bombing .
The Oklahoma City Boathouse District provides a number of recreational adventures . At the U . S . Olympic and Paralympic Training Site for Canoe and Kayak , groups take tours that detail the training routines of world-class athletes , and they engage in team-building opportunities . Students can , themselves , get competitive by racing in dragon boats on the Oklahoma River or by whitewater rafting in the state-of-the-art aquatic adventure facility . Also available to groups is the 80-foot Sky Trail adventure course .
