WASHINGTON, D.C. Museum of the Bible Opening in Washington, D.C., this November is the Museum of the Bible, which is being billed as one of the most technologically advanced museums in the world. At 430,000-square-feet, the museum will have a Narrative Floor, where students can engage all the senses and learn the stories of the Bible from Genesis through the New Testament; a History Floor with more than 500 biblical artifacts including fragments of the Dead Sea Scrolls and early New Testament writings; and an Impact Floor, where students can explore the Bible’s influence over time on culture and many aspects of daily life through visual learning and interaction. The state-of- the-art building also has a rooftop garden and restaurant serving biblical foods. The museum is located two blocks from the National Mall and three blocks from the capital. Also opening this autumn is The Wharf, a $2 billion project aimed to re-establish Washington, D.C., as a waterfront destination. Its 3.2 million-square-feet of residential, hotel, restaurant, retail and cultural space is set for a grand opening in October. The Wharf is rich in history and will introduce the first water taxi fleet, a most convenient way to view the city. Students can kayak, sail or cruise on the Potomac River, enjoy 10 acres of parks and green space, shop, and explore four public piers.
