FROM SHAKESPEARE
TO THE SYMPHONY
ALAN ALABASTRO PHOTOGRAPHY
A variety of live performance experiences await students as they
tour the U.S. West Coast. The following NTA members combine
seeing a show with behind-the-scenes programs and discounts
on tickets:
Teatro ZinZanni
Teatro ZinZanni (Seattle)
This original show includes cabaret, improv, vaudeville, acrobats
and live music along with a multi-course feast. The meal and
performance take place under the big top of a gorgeous, antique
Belgian cabaret tent, and the action surrounds the guests, who
are seated restaurant-style inside the circular structure. A student
discount is available for afternoon matinee performances.

SANTA FE’S ARTS SCENE GETS INTERDIMENSIONAL
“Game of Thrones” novelist George R.R. Martin and
the Santa Fe, New Mexico-based arts production
company Meow Wolf recently teamed up to open a
large-scale, multi-use arts complex in the city.
Meow Wolf leased a former bowling alley
from Martin and completed a multimillion-dollar
renovation, turning the space into artist studios,
galleries, a community learning center and a
20,000-square-foot permanent attraction called
“House of Eternal Return.”
Meow Wolf is known for immersive exhibits
that incorporate digital technology, narrative
elements and interactivity. “House of Eternal
Return” combines artistic expression and narrative
depth. Visitors walk through a surreal imagining
of a Victorian home as part of a story that moves
through time and fantasy dimensions. The attraction
features the work of more than 75 artists.
