VISIT INDY
INDIANAPOLIS
Indianapolis Motor Speedway
There is a lot of activity this spring in
Indianapolis, as the city prepares ready to
commemorate the 100th running of the
Indianapolis 500 in May over Memorial
Day weekend. A number of attractions are
located in the nearby town of Speedway,
including Sarah Fisher’s new K1 Karting
experience (opened in April), the Indianapolis
Motor Speedway and the Dallara IndyCar
Factory.
At the factory, students should head to the
interactive zone to enjoy the racing simulators
and two-seater rides. As part of a behindthe-scenes tour at the Indianapolis Motor
Speedway, groups can learn more about the
famous race’s first century, see vintage race
cars and kneel down to join the tradition of
kissing the bricks just like race winners do.
