TEE IT UP AT THE WORLD GOLF HALL OF FAME WORLD GOLF HALL OF FAME The World Golf Hall of Fame was founded in 1974 and moved to its current St. Augustine, Florida, location in 1998, with the goal of honoring the greats of the game. The attraction is the centerpiece of the World Golf Village, which includes two championship courses and lodging. It regularly hosts special events for golf enthusiasts and debuts new exhibitions in its galleries. In December 2015, the hall of fame opened its new exhibit, “Major Moments: Celebrating Golf’s Greatest Championships.” Guests can learn the history of the four men’s tournaments that comprise the major championships, and in addition to seeing artifacts relating to some of the greatest golfers of all time, they will be able to put their names at the top of an interactive leaderboard. The museum also puts on events connected to golf’s top tournaments. During the Masters, fans can learn about hall of fame inductees who have taken home that trophy, and they can participate in a scavenger hunt that goes throughout the attraction. Special activities are also planned for The Players tournament in May, and both competitions are broadcast throughout the museum.
