AMSTERDAM
ORLEANS
“Amsterdam is home to a variety of world-famous museums, and
no trip to the city is complete without visiting the Rijksmuseum
and the Anne Frank House,” says Corné Ruijs of Ruijs Travel, a
tour operator based in southern Holland.
After an extensive decade-long renovation, Rijksmuseum
reopened in 2013. In addition to the modernization of the facility,
the organization of the artwork was revamped to improve the
presentation of more than 8,000 objects of Dutch art that date
back to the Middle Ages. Groups can see works from Vermeer,
Frans Hals and Rembrandt, including the latter’s “Night Watch.”
Anne Frank is one of Amsterdam’s most well-known former
residents, and during a visit to Prinsengracht, groups can see
the home where she and her family hid for more than two
years during World War II. “The house has been converted
into a museum, and it is a place our customers find to be
unforgettable,” says Ruijs.
Another popular attraction is the Van Gogh Museum, which is
home to a number of works by the famous artist.
