Treasure Chest June/July 2014 | Page 7

The sun came out on Sunday, April 27th and warmed the hearts and backs of 450 participants. We had a wonderful day, a record turnout and are on tract for a record amount of donations. The pledges aren’t due to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society until Saturday, May 31st so we do not have our complete total, but we raised approximately $22,000 at the event. Cayman Landing’s own “Dumpster the Bear” made an appearance and entertained children and adults alike. This year DuBois City Manager “Herm” Suplizio kicked off our walk with a rousing welcome and countdown. Sunny 106 came out and broadcast from the Lakeview Lodge and Conference Center for two hours prior to the kick off. Walkers enjoyed pizzas donated by Bucks Pizza, Treasure Lake One Stop, Italian Oven, Domino’s Pizza and the Treasure Lake Ski Lodge. We had subs from Delullo’s of St. Mary’s and cookies donated by SUBWAY of DuBois, Mimi Goodman and myself. Drinks were donated by Wal-Mart distribution of Clearfield, Pepsi of St. Mary’s and Sheetz Corp. of Altoona. I can’t say enough about all of our volunteers who made the day such a success. Thank you to Lori Corcoran, Mimi Goodman, Bob Parana, Dot McGee, Terry Kline, Joe Beatty and Eric Vonschmittou , all Treasure Lake managers who directed their departments and or donated merchandise for our raffle basket.

There is an awards dinner scheduled for June, 25th at 6:30pm. All volunteers are welcome to attend. Heather Dodd, Co-Chairman, and I look forward to seeing you at the dinner. Thank you to all of the Treasure Lake community for your support.
