New Golf Pro Comes Home

The Treasure Lake Property Owners Association has named golf professional,Matt Guyton, to head all golf operations at Treasure Lake's two PGA rated golf courses. Guyton, a native of Treasure Lake, earned a degree in Computer Information Systems at Clarion University of Pennsylvania in 2005. During his collegiate career, Matt won 10 individual collegiate tournament championships and was a NCAA Division II All-American. He also competed in the US Amateur and Sunnehanna Invitational tournaments. Matt also served as the captain of the golf team.

Matt turned professional after his collegiate career and has worked at some of the top golf clubs in the country. As a PGA apprentice, Matt has worked in the Metropolitan PGA section at Rockaway Hunting Club, Old Westbury Golf & Country Club and The Creek Club in Long Island, NY. In addition, Matt held management positions at Jonathan's Landing and Loblolly in South Florida and the TPC at Wakefield Plantation in North Carolina, Black Hall Club in Connecticut and also the Vineyard Golf Club on Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts. In addition to his work abilities, Matt has competed on the professional level on the east coast and in Europe.

His background also includes a strong commitment in staff training and development, membership services, tournament operations, merchandising, junior golf and providing high quality golf instruction to all skill levels. He has taught over 300 hours of golf lessons over a 7 month period for the past four years in the Met PGA section. Matt is also a US Kid's Certified Golf Instructor and was in charge of leading a 10 week junior sports camp over the past two years that included 100 juniors between the ages of 4-18 years of age.
