While driving around the campground a sign in a window, “Spring Fever,” got stuck in my head. While as of this writing, the winter has not been quite what it was last year, we still have some of Mother Nature’s white magic to deal with.

However, soon enough, it will be time to get the camping season underway. We are very excited about this and I know our many Cayman owners and future campers are too.

We’re looking forward to attending the Pennsylvania Adventure RV Expo at the Blair County Convention Center in Altoona, Friday, February 27th through Sunday, March 1st. This is a great way to not only see the latest and greatest in RV’s and camping accessories, but also a great way to get ideas and visit with folks in the industry. We look forward to more success from attending this year’s show.

I think you’ll find much enjoyment from the events planned at the campground this season. The Cayman Campers Club and Lori and Jill from the TLPOA have put together a wonderful schedule that will have a bit of something for everyone. Always a favorite, bingo will be back with several nights on the schedule. I will again host the “Meet the Manager” sessions starting in April. This a a great way to keep campers updated and to get the real pulse of the Cayman camping community.

Many folks work behind the scenes to insure that things will get done in time for a successful season. There is a true commitment from management, maintenance and members of the board to see that these things are carried through. I will continue to do my best to help keep things moving forward.

I’m quite impressed with the cabin bookings for the summer. Already we have limited space for weekends in late June and July, and we are filling up for the holidays. Call the office at (814) 913-1437 to get more information, or to book your stay . I’ve also had some great meetings the past couple weeks helping folks prepare for their weddings and reunions.

You may still be able to book the Cayman Lodge, or the Pavilion. These are great facilities for you to host your parties, weddings and reunions. You can call the POA office for more information at (814) 371-0711.

Believe me when I say it’s your campground and your input is needed. The door at the Cayman office is always open. I do find myself out and about more this time of the year. If I’m out during office hours, you’ll see the number to call and I’ll be there in minutes.

My goal since I started in 2012 was to make Cayman Landing the “True Treasure of Treasure Lake.” That goal is stronger than ever.

Start planning today. I’m here to help! There are only a few more months of dealing with winter. In the meantime, think spring and summer!
