Friday – Santa Barbara Sam Adams Combined (SPU); Stanford Invitational (UAA, CWU, NNU, SFU, WOU); San Francisco State Distance Carnival (UAA, CWU, NNU, SPU, SFU, WOU); WWU MultiEvents (CWU, WWU). Saturday – Stanford Invitational (UAA, CWU, NNU, SFU, WOU); San Francisco State Distance Carnival (UAA, CWU, NNU, SFU, WOU); Montana State Invitational (MSUB); UPS Shotwell (CWU, SMU, SPU, SFU, WWU); UBC Invitational (SFU); Portland Spring Break Open (WOU); Jenn Boyman Linfield Invitational (SFU, WOU); Santa Barbara Sam Adams Combined (SPU). Jamie Ashcroft of Alaska Anchorage also earned two PNQs, posting Division II’s sixth best women’s 200 time (24.50) and seventh best mark in the 100 (11.86). Lynelle Decker of Seattle Pacific recorded Division II’s fourth best time in the 800 this spring (2:11.64) and Tamara Perez of UAA ran the fifth best 1500 (4:31.70). Doing even better were Shannon Porter of Saint Martin’s with the season’s No. 2 time in the 5000 (16:37.99) and UAA’s Haleigh Lloyd with the No. 3 national time in the 400 hurdles (1:00.96). SFU’s Monique Lisek moved into seventh place in the hurdles with a time of 1:02.01. Five Schools at Stanford, San Francisco State, UPS PORTLAND, Ore. – In the Bay Area and south to Santa Barbara, north to Canada and east to Missoula, Mont., GNAC track and field athletes will be journeying this weekend. Also posting Top 10 marks were Kalli Walker of Saint Martin’s (4th in the javelin, 155-6), Anna Paradee of Western Washington in the pole vault (8th, 12-0 ¾) and Central Washington’s Erin Chinchar in the steeplechase (10th, 11:02.07). The schedule features meets at Stanford, San Francisco State, University of Montana, Linfield and in Portland along with multi-events at Bellingham and Santa Barbara. Porter’s 5K mark gives her two PNQs. She qualified in the 10K two weeks ago with a time of 35:39.79, which still ranks eighth on TFRRS. Several schools will be competing at multiple venues. Five schools each will have athletes at the Stanford Invitational, San Francisco State Distance Carnival and University of Puget Sound Invitational. Justin Larson, WOU, 61.57 – 202-0. Decathlon – 6. Justin Peterson, CWU, 6401. After recording 20 national qualifying marks last week including a GNAC-record in the men’s 100 meters, the athletes will be chasing more qualifying times this weekend. Alex Donigian of Western Washington set a GNAC record last Saturday in the 100 meters at the Texas Relays. His time of 10.27 was also Division II’s best time this spring. Women: 100 – 7. Another outstanding mark was a 24-2 ¼ long jump by Vladislav Tsygankov of Simon Fraser at the UBC Open. That performance ranks fourth in GNAC history and fourth this spring in Division II. Also recording Division II Top 10 marks on the men’s side were Cody Warner of Western Oregon in the 200 meters (21.40), Brian Chalkey of Saint Martin’s in the javelin (2069) and Justin Peterson of Central Washington in the decathlon (6401). Alaska Anchorage 10th, 11th in USTFCCCA Rankings Alaska Anchorage’s women are 10th and its men are 11th in this week’s USTFCCCA Track and Field computer rankings. Peterson’s score ranks sixth on TFRRs, while the other two athletes rank eighth. Peterson also had a PNQ during the decathlon in the high jump clearing 6-8 ¼. Only two other GNAC teams are ranked this week. Western Washington’s men are 20th and Saint Martin’s women are 22nd. 1
