Lucille

Lucille with milk chocolate hair, Lucille with eyes just like her hair, Lucille, undersized and underweight. Her t-shirt dangling from her shoulders, blue jeans billowing from her scaled down waist. Lucille the girl who is too skimpy to even be noticed by anyone. She meanders down the narrow sidewalk, her head hanging low to the ground, a slight frown displaying from her round little face. Twig-like arms loaded with novels, almost unable to lug.

Lucille with no friends, no family, and no one that cares. Lucille, all by her lonesome with the feelings she cannot share. Strolling into the foster home she once did not reside in. Lucille who spent hours upon hours, days upon days, understanding each chapter of life as it goes. Her tiny little brain gaining more and more knowledge each and every day.

Lucille whose thoughts and education do not correspond with her with the looks displaying on her face. Young Lucille getting all A’s throughout her years of schooling. No one paying any attention to poor little Lucille, until one day a smile reaching from ear to ear appears upon her shiny little face. A friend just like her comes into sight right beside her. Lucille who is no longer alone, no longer proceeding through life by herself, because Lucille, can do it all with little Annabelle.
