Quick Draw Girl

This quick draw girl,

With the glimmer in her eye.

The girl who pops the bubble wrap,

Makes my heart come alive.

The freckles on her cheeks,

The smile on her face,

Give me the need,

A desire to chase.

I harbor my fantasies,

Knowing it will never come true.

I'm not sure

I want it to.

The quick draw girl,

With all the boys on her heels,

With her finger on the trigger,

And a mind set to kill.

Black Sketchbook By Haylee Gilmore

A black sketchbook, filled with unknown wonders.

A girl in dark colors, doodling and creating away.

Earbuds in her ears, and an imagination unlike any other.

What in the world is this girl drawing today?

Many skeletons and diagrams can be seen on the front;

Ghosted with lyrics and quotes from different songs.

Could the pages inside look like a battlefront?

Could her graphics have a character who is headstrong?

As I peer over her shoulder to take a glance

at whatever work of art she is originating,

I realize this girl is designing a masterpiece of gothic romance.

Inside MY sketchbook, a sketch oh so fascinating.

"What in the world are you drawing in my black sketchbook?"

The girl, my best friend, observes me: "Why don't you take a look?"
